The Frankston Bypass reserve passes through the Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve in Frankston North. SEITA is currently working with specialist consultants BIOSIS, Parks Victoria, Department of Sustainability and Environment and representatives from the Friends of the Pines Reserve to study significant species in the reserve, such as the Southern Brown Bandicoot.
This study will assess the potential impact of a bypass on significant species. It will also identify the potential to minimise those impacts by shifting the alignment into an area of lower quality within the reserve or modifying the boundary of the Centenary Park Public Golf Course.
