Motorists pay tolls based on the sections of the road they use in a single trip. All trips are capped at $4.96 (in 2008 dollars) for cars.
Toll increases on EastLink are capped at the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and adjusted annually.
ConnectEast is offering motorists tag and video tolling products as well as trip passes for casual use. Visit www.eastlink.com.au for more information on tolling products available.
EastLink tags will be interoperable with CityLink and all other electronic toll roads in Australia, eliminating the need for more than one tag per user.
The State Government has introduced a 'safety net' system to protect accidental users from being fined.
Under this system, casual users or accidental users who have not made arrangements with ConnectEast will not receive an automatic fine. Instead, users will receive an invoice for thier toll and an administration fee giving them the chance to pay for the section of the road they used.
