The State Government announced in March 2007 that it would commence an Environment Effects Statement (EES) to consider the route for a possible Frankston Bypass.
The EES will consider the route from the existing Frankston Freeway/EastLink interchange at Carrum Downs (currently under construction) to the existing Mornington Peninsula Freeway (Dromana Freeway) at Mount Martha - a distance of around 25kms.
A proposed Frankston Bypass route (PDF 413KB) is currently reserved in the corridor, however other alternatives will be assessed during the EES process.
