About EastLink:

EastLink Trail

Around 35 kilometres of new pathway exists alongside EastLink giving people the chance to walk, run or cycle on a continuous journey between Hoddle Street and Carrum.

The EastLink Trail is a three metre-wide concrete path that links into Melbourne's extensive network of bicycle and pedestrian paths. The path has been designed to minimise the impact on the environment and sensitive vegetation.

A number of bridges and underpasses are provided to minimise the need to cross at major roads. Underpasses will be well lit and finished in light colours to provide a safe road crossing.

Many groups were consulted extensively about the design and construction of the EastLink Trail including Parks Victoria, Bicycle Victoria, community groups and local councils.
